Google Taking a Long Look at Linking

I just got back from picking up my daughter from school, and it's been three years now that I've been upset why no one does anything around the school to better control the traffic - the speeding through the school zone.

Most people don't care, is what it boils down to. Certainly most parents as they drop off or pick up their kids, they speed away at up to 40 MPH in a 20 MPH zone. And they smile at me as they speed by.

Yes, they're late for whatever. Didn't properly plan, so the kids suffer - those who have to watch out for them - to avoid being killed next to the school they're trying to get to, or go from.

On that same road, we have a school bus that picks up for the middle school close by. The bus stops, puts on the flashing lights, but time after time cars simply keep going and break the law - both speeding and passing a stopped school bus.

I guess I'm the only one that cares, because I tell other parents and they just look at me funny. I even told the principal of this Naples, Florida elementary school and he told "me" to go do something about it. Guess he carries absolutely no clout with the city or county.

But I have found something that may work.

I don't complain much about our fine city. Especially here. But the city department of roads, or whichever department is responsible for road works, has the bad habit of leaving those orange cones and portable traffic signs laying on the roadside long after the job has been finished.

One such cone has been laying on its side next to the school for over a month. They are putting in new traffic signals (not school zone signals) and maybe that's why the cone is there. I figured they won't miss it for a couple more weeks (until school ends and they can speed all they want). So late today I'm going to pick it up... or try to... and run it over to a friends home who lives right next to the 20 MPH school zone sign.

On my way to and from the school, I will place and pick up the cone and put it right in the middle of the road near the school zone sign. Sounds like a plan to me. What do you think? I'd certainly slow down near a cone.

I'll keep you updated.

With that off my chest let me tell you about Google's look into paid links. Now I've preached that you should develop a good linking network, and I've even discussed using Three Way Links for your content sites. And many of you have asked about Google's new look at this - and will they ban or delist your site if they figure you have links from Three Way Links.

Matt Cutts talks about spam in the form of web pages, and I've been preaching for years that any work with spammy pages will reap the wrath of Google. They will delist you faster than you can say Jack Flash, as Mom would say.

So my experience has been that the main reason these sites are gone from Google is that they are a spam site. It's pretty cut and dry. But some still argue that the Three Way Linking constitutes paid links that are used for the purpose of skewing Page Rank or search engine results.

I believe that if your content is original, linking from other sites is a way to get noticed by the search engine bots (see my lesson on search engines at Net Dominate). At that point the search engine can disregard the link and consider the content. And that's all. It's not necessary to penalize unless the site is spamming or irrelevant.

What are your thoughts on this?

Day 68

Today I spent some time putting together a new report I'll offer for $17 on how I put my blogs up and what software I'm now using to help me post and ping, etc. I will let you know when it is finished, but let me know any questions you have.

On with today's work - day 68.

Website 3 we're going to need a fresh article. Post here.

On website 4, you know I have had great success with Three Way Links for my linking. In fact, my site on foreclosures, is showing over 255 backlinks in Yahoo! It's also now a PR 3 site and is my Website 4. So if you haven't purchased this software, you're missing the boat and wasting a lot of time.

Today we also do an affiliate product post for website 4. Check out what this looks like on my site about heartburn. By the way, this site, my first in this series, now has over 436 backlinks!

Post to website 5 - new article. And on website 6, again, check your Three Way Links.

On website 7 we need to post to the article directories and I do this by using iSnare.com distribution service.

Post to website 8, new article, and on website 9, we need a new post and submit to directories. I use Directory Submitter, which works like a champ.

Yikes, more work - Website 10, check your links here and install Three Way Links if you haven't already. Remember the criteria is that the site must already be indexed by Google.

Website 11, we're going to need to post to iSnare.com distribution service.

And on 12, our final work today, post a new article.

This is about as busy as I get. :-)

Day 67 - Twenty Some Left

You can do this. It just takes dedicating and focusing. One thing to do is to clear a time to knock this out. Don't answer the phone, surf, watch TV, go through email, go off on rabbit trails, surf, goof off, surf... OK, you get it. The reason you take all day or night at this is because you're not focusing. Let's get it in gear and knock this out.

Post to website 2 again.

On website 3, today is the day to check through the three way link pages and see if everything looks OK. Did you know that this is the best way to get inbound links I've found hands down and it really works?

Make an affiliate product post to website 3, as well.

On website 4, we need a rewrite to post to iSnare. You know this is done, so I won't be redundant. If you're picking up this right now - then read back a bit to see what iSnare is and how it works.

Check website 5 for three way linking.

On website 6 we're back at iSnare and if you don't have enough credits left here, stock up - or, simply do the submission manually. You can make this happen with software, free at that - that I've discussed earlier in this blog.

A new article is needed on website 7.

An affiliate product post is needed on website 8. This is a post you will do promoting a product - and I always search www.clickbank.com first. You can find some gems there.

On 9 make sure you check the three way links to see if your pages are accepting links.

And I have to have you make an affiliate product post to website 9 as well.

Back at iSnare, take a rewritten article from website 10 and post it there.

Let's finish today off by posting to website 11.

Day 66 - Our Route to 90 Days

Don't worry - we've got the end in site. My goal for you on the 90 days is to be generating at least $150 in AdSense clicks. This should be very doable if you've been faithful. If you want - start over. You can do it!

OK, on website 2, check that three way linking is working and that you set it up correctly. I know we've done this a few times with website 2, but make sure that software is working. It won't alert you if it isn't.

We have more work for website 2 as we'll get in an affiliate post today. These take a little time - but make sure you do something. When you get that first affiliate sale you throw a little party!

Website 3 - new article for iSnare. I can't believe how big some of our sites are now. This is good and Google loves this - especially the linking!

Website 4 - new post to the site here. And then onto 5, of course, with a new rewrite for iSnare. If you are running out of credits there, use the article submitter that I suggest. Search the blog here for the link to that software.

Let's get a new article in on website 6 as long as we're going in numerical order. And website 7, yes - a new affiliate product post. Embellish!

OK, so we do skip 8, but for 9, we need an article for iSnare again. This is one of your website 9 topics, freshly rewritten.

And finally, website 10 - just a simple post for today.

How to Use AdWords Correctly

There's a lot of controversy on how to use AdWords the right way and I have my own cookbook for my formulas which I won't part with - well, maybe at the right price, hehe.. But the guys over at StomperNet have released a new video about an hour long. And it's worth a look.

Some of these things you watch and then think - gosh, I just wasted an hour of my night. But you'll glean some cool gems from this one without spending a cent and I'm not an affiliate.

I give it to you here because it is just another thing you should understand and have in your quiver.

There is another post coming out in just a bit, but here's the link. Maybe you can have this playing in the background while you do your work.
